Patients who undergo treatment at Orthopaedic Surgical Consultants often follow up with physical rehabilitation at OSC Physical Therapy, just next door to our office in Merrillville, Indiana.

OSC Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation is a physio clinic that has qualified physical therapists who focus on joint motion, muscle strength and endurance, function of the heart and lungs, and performance of activities required in daily living, among other responsibilities.

Meet Our Physical Therapists

As a Physical Therapist Assistant, Raysson Buckner enjoys helping his patients gain complete rehabilitation after having orthopedic surgery. His background in sports therapy, spine care, gait training, and balance and transfer therapy has enabled him to quickly develop effective care plans for optimum recovery outcomes for each patient.

Raysson earned degrees at Fox College and Illinois State University, and he is certified in CPR. He is especially skilled at collaborating with doctors, nurses, therapists, and social workers to determine the safest plan for patients after discharge.

Olivera Cody

Olivera Cody, PTA

Olivera has worked as a physical therapy assistant in a variety of settings, including inpatient rehab and acute care as well as outpatient care.

She graduated from the physical therapy assistant (PTA) program at Ivy Tech Community College in Gary, Indiana, in 2009.

At Orthopaedic Surgical Consultants, Olivera designs and implements treatment programs using exercise, manual therapy, and other modalities. She also monitors the progress of patients through all stages of their therapeutic journey. Olivera values her role as a patient educator, demonstrating and monitoring the proper performance of program tasks as well as how to use assistive devices.

Joyce Youngbrandt, PT

Joyce Youngbrandt

Joyce Youngbrandt has enjoyed working as a physical therapist since 1986. She has held positions as school physical therapist, home health physical therapist, and athletic trainer.

Joyce earned her undergraduate and graduate degrees in Physical Education/Health and Athletic Training/Sports Medicine at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and she further earned a degree in Physical Therapy at the Northwestern University Medical Center in Chicago.

In addition to her extensive experience in sports therapy, hand therapy, and home-based physical therapy, Joyce has served as a guest lecturer on the topic of physical therapy at Marquette University, Governors State University, and Valparaiso University. She has also been a clinical instructor at the Hammond Clinic and Christ Hospital Medical Center.

She is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association, the Chicagoland Pelvic Floor Journal Club, and the National Athletic Trainers’ Association.

Debbie Novak

Debbie Novak is the epicenter of our Physical Therapy team. She is responsible for scheduling appointments for new and existing patients, maintaining all computer records, compiling reports, and working closely with OSC’s doctors and staff.

Debbie has been working in physical therapy clinics for over 15 years, and she is enjoying the wonderful opportunity in working at Orthopaedic Surgical Consultants.
