A Message From Dr. Osteen

At the Orthopaedic Surgery Center (OSC) we strive to provide personal and state of the art care to our patients. Asheboro is a growing and progressive area. We hope to keep up with the demands of an ever changing and complex surgical world without sacrificing the personal relationships that all patients deserve. The staff works as a team to provide care that cannot be accomplished by a single individual.

Lance Sisco, MD is an Orthopaedic Surgeon who joined our practice from the Tampa, Florida area. He did his orthopedic residency at Bowman-Gray School of Medicine, a sports medicine fellowship in Florida, and then practiced orthopedic surgery in Florida for 11 years. His wife, Tina,  is a North Carolina native and they returned to our state in 2003.

Ron Estes, OPA-C is an Orthopaedic Physicians Assistant who works closely with me in the office as well as the operating room. He assists in virtually all of the surgical procedures and is then very able to closely monitor the post-operative course and alert me to any problems that may arise.

Bill Hickman, OPA-C is our most recent addition to the practice. He moved in March of 2005 from Pennsylvania and works most closely with Dr. Sisco in the office as well as the operating room.

Gezelle Macon and Lori Ward comprise the nursing staff and are invaluable as a contact for patients who need information about their pre- or post-operative care. They also assist in the office evaluations and treatments. Ms. Macon is available during office hours for questions regarding visits with me and Ms. Ward is available for questions regarding visits with Dr. Sisco.

The administrative staff of our office facilitates the business aspects of the practice. Without them we could not provide orthopedic care in this very complex, confusing and, yes, expensive medical world. They in a sense keep the doors open. Jana Hoyle is the office manager and is available to assist patients in financial matters including financial planning. Karen Ludlum tries to keep up with the very complex insurance environment. The scheduling and reception of patients is the domain of Laura Gardner and Anita Richardson. We hope to provide excellent care to our patients. We know that orthopedic problems are stressful and taxing to both patients and families. With this team I feel the best possible care is given to our patients at Orthopaedic Surgery Center/Sports and Rehabilitation.
